wedding shadowbox

Six and one half years after getting married I've finally done something with my wedding bouquet. This is a project I've been meaning to do for awhile now and I finally realized, what am I waiting for?  I had everything that I needed to pull this wedding shadowbox together so I quickly got it done while my little ones were napping.

I found an extra wedding invitation, pulled out a wedding photo I liked, pulled my bouquet out of storage, and cut out a piece of turquoise fabric that we had used to drape a wall for our reception; I even already had a shadow box! Can't wait to get it up on the wall, but I need to figure out my gallery wall arrangement first.

  1. That's such a sweet way to preserve a memory, I wish I had thought to do something like that with my wedding stuff. I'm pretty sure it's long since ruined in storage. Thanks so much for stopping by chapter37 and for your kind comment.

    1. Dang! That stinks. I tell my kids all the time, "it's a good thing you're so cute..."

  4. Aw I love that idea!!!! My bouquet was fake, so I have it stuck in a vase... but this idea is so fun!!!

  5. That's a great plan! We had a hurricane a month after our wedding, so a lot of the tangible memories got destroyed in the resulting roof leaks.

    1. Oh no Pegi! I'm so sorry, hopefully you still have your photographs intact?

  6. Beautiful! Way to get it done too!! I still have yet to put together our wedding album! I wanted to save my bouquet, but we got married in Hawaii and they wouldn't let us take it in the plane:-(.

    1. I can't believe they wouldn't let you bring it on the plane, my sister in law took hers on the plane... weird. Although, at least you got to get married in Hawai'i, so... that's pretty awesome. :)

  7. We're celebrating 9 years this September and I have a shadow box someone made me--that I didn't love. I also have my bouquet somewhere in a box. Hmmm, perhaps I should combine the two and redo the box into something I actually want to display. Thanks for the inspiration---this is SO much better than what I've got now :)

    1. You should totally redo it Brooke! Better to have something you love and gets used that something you don't that doesn't. :)
