A couple of weeks ago my little dove was invited to a birthday party so I whipped up a portable car mat for the birthday boy and completed the gift with a Hot Wheels car.
I made this one with heat transfer for the yellow road dashes instead of embroidery floss because I had noticed my son pulling on the ones on his mat a few times, so these road dashes are more "kid-proof". For one of the squares I made a gas station with a gas pump and a hose made of some ribbon I had in my stash; for the other square I made a McDonald's with a drive-through board.
