favorite Christmas movies

Oh my goodness, can you believe that Christmas is just a few days away?
Where has this month gone?
Where has this year gone?!
I've compiled a list of some of my favorite Christmas movies to share with you, I think it's a pretty good mix of older classics and newer favorites; and although there are lots that I'm sure you'll recognize, I'm hoping to share some with you that will be new to you and will become one of your favorites as well!

1//Twas the Night Before Christmas. This was one of my favorites when I was little! I still remember some of the lyrics to one of the songs, "We'll do what's necessary 'cause, even a miracle needs a hand." Okay, seriously, what would I have room for in my brain if I didn't have all these random lyrics in my head that I haven't even heard for almost 20 years?
2//Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas. My kids love this one and it's one that I can also sit through multiple times (and I have!). Some catchy songs in this one too, and if your kids are anything like mine they'll be singing "Do fish know that it is Christmas" instead of "We wish you a merry Christmas" after watching it a couple times.
3//A Charlie Brown Christmas. Love, love, love. Although, as a adult watching it with your kids, you pick up on all the times they use the words like "stupid" that you never noticed when you watched it in the past. Regardless, we're big fans in our household and there are some really great and profound moments.
4//The Muppet Christmas Carol. Another favorite with kids and adults alike in our house! It's a really fun version of the classic story that will hold even a young child's interest.
5//The Santa Clause. This is a fun newer one, well, newer compared to most of the other ones on my list. I'm sure you've seen it, but if you haven't, you really should! One of the moments that always sticks in my head is when they're trying to find somewhere to eat their Christmas Eve dinner.
6//Elf. The movie that taught us that "the best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear." Also, what the real four main food groups are. ;) Really, I don't know anyone who doesn't love Elf!
7//The Night They Saved Christmas. Has anyone else heard of this one? It's definitely lesser known, but my mom loves it and as a result, all of us girls loved it growing up. I really need to order it because I haven't seen it for years and I've been wanting to!
8//We're No Angels. The 1955 version (I honestly haven't seen the other one). Another classic movie that we grew up watching and holds a special spot in my heart. It's sweet, funny, and it's got Humphrey Bogart, what more could you ask for in a Christmas movie?
9//National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. The only National Lampoon movie that I care about, I really like this movie a lot, but we are a house divided because my husband doesn't much care for it. I just think it's really funny though!
10//White Christmas. Officially the oldest movie on my list (by one year), this is my absolute, favorite Christmas movie! The music, the humor, the feel-good story line. It is the perfect movie to cuddle up with in front of a fire and with a mug of hot chocolate! The "Sister" musical number is one of my favorites!

To end with, I'd like to invite you all to watch this beautifully done video that helps remind us all that Christ was the first gift of Christmas. It will be 2 minutes and 45 seconds well spent, trust me. This would be a lovely video to watch with your family as well!
