guest post: ice cream birthday party

Did you notice  I wasn't around on Wednesday? I know, I know, I missed you guys too. Y'all, it has just been one of those weeks (several weeks is more like it).
Also, I love that I only lived in Texas for 2 years but y'all has stuck to me like glue.
And I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
This most awesome of weeks was capped off yesterday but an almost two hour wait for an oil change even though I had made an appointment.
So, do I feel badly that my two older children were little tyrants whilst waiting?
No, I do not. I was ready to start running around and screaming too.
But anyway, I digress. To make up my absence to you I have an adorable party to show you today! My friend, Nicole, threw this super sweet ice cream birthday party for her daughter, A (Who my own daughter has not once, but twice this week thrown a tantrum about wanting to go and play with her; see, I told you it had been one of those weeks.) and I begged her to let me share it with all of you!

First of all, I can start with embarrassing my good friend a little bit because, well, because I can.
It's my blog, what are you going to do about it?
So, Nicole is one of those moms who always seems to have it together; her house always looks pretty much immaculate, her children are awesome, she always looks polished and cute, and she's always willing to help out if she can. Seriously, I can't count how many times she has watched my kiddos for me. And I'm not saying none of my other friends are like that, cause they pretty much all are (I like to surround myself with awesomeness because it inspires me to be better!), but when you let me use your pics on my blog, you're giving me permission to gush about your greatness.
You've been warned.

All that to say, she always plans something amazing for her kids, even if they're just having a family celebration. How cute are these hair clips she made? I think they're just adorable and I'm super excited I have everything I need to make some because I think my daughters need some ice cream hair clips.

I love the color scheme of pink, mint green, brown, and white. Totally makes me think of all the classic ice cream flavors (strawberry, mint chip, chocolate, and vanilla) and seems so perfect for a 2-year old little girl's party!
When I saw this picture on Instagram, I couldn't believe how cute this ice cream cart was! How cool is that? I don't think I would have come up with that, but it is the perfect cake stand for her sugary masterpiece.

Speaking of which, she's pretty much amazing at decorating cakes. Like, sometimes she gets paid to make them for people.
You know, cause apparently with 4 kids she just has too much spare time. ;)
I love the colors and design. And my son would LOVE all the sprinkles on the side. It was a three layer strawberry cake with vanilla and chocolate filling (like Neapolitan), perfect for this party!

Thanks, Nicole, for letting me share A's party, it really is soooo adorable. And I hope y'all enjoyed it. Don't you just want to reach through your screen and grab a fistful of that cake?
